Bret Csencsitz began his work in the New York City restaurant industry as a bar manager at Beacon Restaurant. He moved on to Restaurant Daniel where he was an assistant banquet director, followed by Cafe Boulud, where he was the maître d'. In 2007, he stepped into the managing partner position at Gotham Bar and Grill where he has run operations for more than a decade. Bret says he ensures that the restaurant lives up to its legacy while continuing to push boundaries as a leader in the New York dining scene. He helped develop the Gotham Chocolates program and a collection of fine culinary products under the Gotham Selections label. Bret works with GrowNYC and created the Gotham Journal to generate conversation around food, beverage, sustainability and culture.
