Jeong Kwan

Korean Temple Cuisine with Zen Buddhist Nun Jeong Kwan

Jeong Kwan will share her mindful approach to cooking and demonstrate her specialized Korean temple cuisine with a select group of ICE students and alumni during this very unique event.

A Zen Buddhist nun, Kwan spends most of her days living and cooking in the mountains at Chunjinam Hermitage of the Baekyangsa temple, 169 miles south of Seoul, South Korea. With no formal culinary education, she rose to fame after her vegan, meditative cuisine was featured on an episode of the Netflix series "Chef's Table." Kwan has also been featured in The New York Times and on "Avec Eric,” with host Eric Ripert, of three-Michelin-starred Le Bernardin in New York City, who is a fellow Buddhist.
