Jim Lahey, baker extraordinaire, founded Sullivan Street Bakery in 1994 with the belief that good bread should be available and affordable for everyone.

Jim is a two-time James Beard Foundation Award winner (Inaugural Outstanding Baker and Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America), a bestselling author of three cookbooks, and was dubbed “one of the most influential food figures in America” by Bon Appétit.

The New York Times published Jim’s No-Knead Bread method in 2006, enabling home bakers to make bakery-quality loaves right from their ovens. The recipe remains one of the most popular bread recipes in the world.

Today, Sullivan Street Bakery delivers bread to over 300 restaurants and is the gold standard by which handcrafted, small-batch bread in NYC is measured.
