ICE Presents: Chefs Jazz & Sugar of Jitlada
The co-owners of the acclaimed Southern Thai restaurant will visit ICE's LA campus for a demo.
Chefs Jazz Singsasong and Sugar Sungkamee, the owners of acclaimed LA restaurant Jitlada, will be visiting the ICE LA campus on October 25th.
Chefs Jazz and Sugar will demonstrate one of the restaurant's best-selling dishes and talk about their journeys. Chef Jazz is a previous ICE guest and Chef Sugar is a Restaurant & Culinary Management alumna. We are SO excited to welcome them both back to campus!
About Chef Jazz:
Chef Jazz is also known as the celebrity chef of Jitlada Thai Restaurant. She is a native of a small town in Southern Thailand and immigrated to the US in 1979. Chef Jazz is a James Beard Award finalist chef who started Jitlada in 2006 with her late brother Chef Tui Sungkamee. Under Chef Jazz and Chef Tui's leadership, Jitlada's food has shaped Los Angeles' culinary scene and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and on Netflix. Chef Jazz has appeared on the Food Network Show Guy's Grocery Games, including winning the title of Super Team Champion.
About Chef Sugar:
Chef Sugar grew up in the restaurant business. She learned the trade from Jitlada's former owner, her father, Chef Tui. After Chef Tui passed away, Sugar stepped in as a co-owner and runs Jitlada along with her aunt. Chef Sugar is a graduate of ICE's Restaurant & Culinary Management program and also holds a master's degree in Business Administration.
