Biography

The former chef at Boqueria and Tertulia in New York City, Seamus Mullen made a name for himself with Spanish cuisine and has emerged on the plant-based, health-forward food scene in Los Angeles. Seamus champions whole foods, health and wellness, from his cookbooks “Hero Food” and “Real Food Heals,” to his work with Gwyneth Paltrow and GOOP.

He was a finalist on “The Next Iron Chef” season 2 and has judged “Beat Bobby Flay” and “Chopped.” Seamus contributes to Men’s Journal and hosts a wellness podcast called “Goopfellas.” He’s a chef consultant for a hotel group and fast-casual concepts and supports No Kid Hungry’s Chef Cycle as an avid cyclist.

As a restaurant chef, Seamus was New York magazine’s Best New Chef in 2007, Eater’s Comeback of the Year award winner in 2011, and a semifinalist for the James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York City three times. He joined the Institute of Culinary Education in 2020 bringing expertise from the service, wellness and food media sectors of the industry.
