ICE’s International Students

By

Like New York City, ICE is a hub of multiculturalism. We are proud to have students from 44 countries, giving ICE its unique international character. For example, one current afternoon Culinary Arts class has four international students in a class of 16: Renato Marquez from Brazil, Mauricio Useche from Venezuela, Marcela Henao from Colombia and Alexander Dumitrescu from Romania. New York, America’s culinary capital, helps ICE offer our students a vibrant cultural experience that includes access to a vast array of international restaurants, gourmet markets and culinary resources.

It’s no wonder that so many international students have chosen ICE as their passport to a rewarding and successful culinary career. New York City is also the perfect place to embrace the delicious array of multicultural cuisines from around the globe, and at ICE, we try to take full advantage of all the resources available to us! Recently, ICE’s Director of Student Affairs, Andy Gold went abroad to work with top chefs in Indonesia. Chef Andy was teaching to the Council of Chefs at the United States Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. While he was there, Chef Andy undoubtedly took some time to learn more and bring his newfound knowledge back to ICE in the United States! Alumni and students take regular trips to France, Vietnam and Italy. We are proud of our multicultural spirit here at ICE.
