Position Summary
The Institute of Culinary Education is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Associate Director of Admissions to support the Director of Admissions at our New York campus. This role blends hands-on admissions leadership with direct student engagement, ensuring both team performance and an exceptional prospective student experience.

The Associate Director plays a critical role in driving enrollment results, coaching admissions representatives, managing daily operations, and maintaining a high-performing, student-centered culture. This individual leads by example—actively engaging with prospective students while supporting the team in achieving performance goals.
Specific Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Support the Director of Admissions in managing day-to-day admissions operations.
- Assist the Director of Admissions with one-on-one meetings, and performance reviews.
- Reinforce consultative sales methodology and compliance standards.
- Assist the Director of Admissions in team meetings.
- Manage the Admissions Support Department.
Enrollment & Pipeline Management
- Help monitor team pipeline activity, lead management, and conversion metrics to ensure targets are met.
- Partner with the Director to hold the team accountable to daily activity expectations (calls, follow-ups, appointments, and interviews).
- Partner with the Director to analyze data and implement strategies to improve enrollment outcomes.
- Identify at-risk leads and implement targeted follow-up strategies.
Student Engagement & Admissions Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume outreach to prospective students via phone, text, and email.
- Build rapport and trust through effective communication and active listening.
- Assess prospective students’ goals and recommend appropriate ICE programs.
- Conduct interviews, tours, and information sessions (on-campus and virtual).
- Guide students through the enrollment process, including coordination with Student Financial Services.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in CRM systems (ICEbox/Anthology or equivalent).
Operational Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Student Financial Services, Academics, Registrar, and Career Services to support student enrollment and readiness.
- Ensure adherence to admissions policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Assist in planning and executing admissions events such as open houses, tours, and workshops.
- Support implementation of new systems, processes, and reporting tools.
- Comply with minimum standards as articulated in the Admissions Personnel Activity Standards policy which is updated at management’s discretion.
Performance & Reporting
- Track and report on key performance indicators including call volume, appointments, interviews, applications, and enrollments.
- Assist in forecasting enrollment trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain visibility into team performance and provide actionable insights to leadership.
Experience & Educational Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in admissions, consultative sales, or a related field (higher education preferred).
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed performance targets in a goal-driven environment.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills.
- Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Google Docs).
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Admissions experience preferred; culinary or hospitality industry experience a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE:
- Full-time, on-site position in Lower Manhattan.
- Flexibility required for evenings and weekends based on departmental needs and event

The position is full-time and requires flexibility to work some evenings and occasional weekend shifts according to department rotation, which is set in advance.
