Director of Human Resources

Full Time

The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is looking for a full-time Human Resources Director who will report to the COO and is responsible for the administration of a wide range of the school's human resource requirements.

The Human Resources Director will collaborate with top management to help plan, create and implement strategies to improve the school from an HR perspective. The Director will also monitor changes and developments in HR and labor regulations, and advise management on these matters.

The Director’s role is to use this strength and tradition as a base, to help create an even stronger enterprise. The school has a diverse staff of 225-250, full-time and part-time employees.

• Performance and talent management.
• Manage and identify training and development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and standards.
• Full Cycle recruitment
• Benefit program planning, negotiation and administration.
• Employee coaching, advisement and conflict resolution.
• Assist managers in design of job descriptions and team development.
• Development and refinement of HR policy and procedures, including employee manuals.
• Co-management and high level administration of 401K plans.

• 10 or more years of experience in Human Resources, with a demonstrated progression of responsibility, authority, and management collaboration.
• Bachelors degree in Business, OD, Psychology or Industrial Relations; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong strategic planning skills with general skill in all areas of human resources.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to represent the institute by projecting a positive attitude and communicating clearly and professionally to a wide and diverse employee population.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and meet deadlines, while maintaining flexibility as priorities may change.
• Clear experience with skill coaching and helping employees on the range of issues
that are bound to arise in a complicated and busy service (and education) oriented environment.
