"Teaching reflects everything I love about this profession. It’s a continual door to learning new techniques."

Ana Sporer grew up in Detroit, earned a degree in accounting at Schoolcraft College and attended the culinary program at Johnson & Wales University. She worked at The Russian Tea Room and The Pierre hotel in New York following graduation. She also has experience from the Biltmore hotel in Providence, Rhode Island, where she served Julia Child an omelet.

Ana and her husband own Ruby’s Hotel in Freehold, New York, for which she was featured in Hudson Valley magazine as a "Hot New Chef" in 2008. When she’s not in the kitchen, you can find Chef Ana outdoors, gardening or foraging on the property of her restaurant in Upstate New York.
