The James Beard Award-winning chef of fast-casual rice bowl concept FieldTrip in Harlem studied at the CIA and made a name for himself at The Cecil and Minton's, also in Harlem. He incorporates American, Asian, Caribbean and West African influences into his cuisine, was recently involved in fighting food insecurity during the pandemic, and published "Between Harlem and Heaven: Afro-Asian-American Cooking for Big Nights, Weeknights, and Every Day" in 2018.
