Meet the Culinary Entrepreneurs: Robin and Andréa McBride
Since starting their wine business in 2005, Robin and Andréa McBride have grown McBride Sisters Collection Wines to become one of the largest Black-owned wine companies.
Though they were raised separately, each grew up among the vines in iconic wine-growing regions — Robin in Monterey, California, and Andréa in Marlborough, New Zealand. When they found themselves together in California, the sisters were destined to become winemakers and hence forged the path together each bringing individual expertise to the table. Their thirst to become leaders in the wine world came to fruition with the company’s three brands: McBride Sisters Black Girl Magic, SHE CAN Wines and McBride Sisters Collections.
Throughout their endeavors, Robin and Andréa McBride have strived to support fellow female entrepreneurs in the industry and in 2019 launched the SHE CAN Professional Development Fund, which aims to close the gender gap and race gap in the wine world by providing professional development scholarships and grants to emerging women leaders. Please join us for a very special discussion with these women in wine.
