Thankful for Turkey

As we get ready to go home to our own Thanksgivings, ICE staff got together to cook two dozen turkeys for charity today.

The turkeys are prepared for a soup kitchen in the back of The Parish of Calvary-St. George Episcopal Church on 16th St., here in NYC.

The church reached out to ICE after the elderly couple who had cooked all 20 turkeys for many years moved away. This year, ICE staff helped prepare 23 turkeys donated by various food stores. Restaurants around the city are donating most of the sides, and the soup kitchen is cooking a few veggies. We are thankful for the chance to help feed those in need on this holiday. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
