Chef Kamal Rose grew up in a family with a strong cooking tradition on the island of St. Vincent in the Grenadines. He moved to New York at 15 years old and gained an internship at Myriad Restaurant Group, and famed restaurateur Drew Nieporent’s Tribeca Grill, his senior year of high school. Over the years, he worked his way through every station in the kitchen. In 2009, he won a $20,000 scholarship in a national cooking competition, which he put toward his education at ICE. In 2012, his hard work and dedication paid off: He was named executive chef at Tribeca Grill.
