Lupulo, the second restaurant of Michelin-starred Chef George Mendes, is inspired by Lisbon's famed cervejarias, or breweries. At Lupulo, the Portuguese word for "hops," Chef Mendes serves a menu of rustic Portuguese fare paired with an extensive menu of craft beers, cocktails and wine. A raw bar and charcuterie station at the restaurant’s wraparound dining bar serves seafood, cured Iberico ham, and petiscos (tapas-style bites). Meanwhile, a curated list of more than a dozen Portuguese and American craft beers on tap offers pairings for Lupulo’s casual dishes, along with a rotating selection of Portuguese wine and cocktails. George Mendes is also the chef and owner of the Michelin-starred Iberian restaurant Aldea; was named one of "Food & Wine's" Best New Chefs of 2011; and released his first cookbook, "My Portugal: Recipes & Stories," in 2014. Your on-location trip features a kitchen tour, a cooking demonstration with Chef George Mendes, and a three-course lunch with a glass of wine. This class meets at 2pm at Lupulo, 835 Sixth Ave. (at W. 29th St.).
