As seven Qdobas shut down in Manhattan, Stephen Zagor, dean of the school of business and management studies at the ICE, weighs in on why this brand might not be keeping up high rent costs and its largest competitor, Chipotle Mexican Grill.
"They are not selling the brand and never really marketed or created an identity," said Stephen Zagor, dean of the school of business and management studies at the Institute of Culinary Education. "Chipotle is growing rapidly and has become the benchmark for fast Mexican food."
