Kate Edwards graduated from the University of Massachusetts and has a certificate in Executive Coaching from iCoach at Baruch College. Throughout her 28-year career Kate has worked with the very best: Balthazar, Per Se, Brooklyn Fare, Le Cirque, The Plaza Hotel and Viceroy Anguilla among others. She has developed concepts ranging from small quick-serve restaurants to luxury resorts and to 3 Michelin star-awarded properties.
At the core of Kate’s success is her experience: it is one of a kind. Throughout her career she has worked in crazy-successful restaurants and in those that have failed miserably; has served everything from casual comfort food to world-class haute cuisine; and has managed the most exclusive destinations as well as high-volume restaurant machines.
In addition, Kate is a contributing writer for both Culintro.com and Restaurant Hospitality Magazine and has been quoted in magazines as varied as Haute Living, First For Women, In-Flight Insider and Fast Casual.
Kate has been teaching at ICE since 2008. When describing her culinary voice, she says, “I am passionate about people and service. People are at the heart of everything we do — we make food for our guests to consume and we rely on people to help us sell and make our product. All students come to ICE with passion and varying levels of experience. What I tell them all is that passion is the fuel to get them through the long hours and tough services. The experience will come but the passion is there to help you create your career and pursue your dreams.”
