Joseph Piscitello

Profile PhotoGrowing up, Joseph saw much of the country as his family moved around quite a bit, giving him the opportunity to live in places like Cleveland, OH, Buffalo, NY, Philadelphia, PA, and Columbus, OH. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics at The Ohio State University, and continued his education at the University of Phoenix for an MBA and Walden University, where he completed his course work for a Doctorate in Business Administration.

His career in the culinary industry began at Charley's Steakery, where he was promoted to Manager after just 1 month. He went on to become a manager in several different restaurants, including 3 bar and grills, the Miller Brewing Company and a beer distributor, before he entered the hospitality field in 2004 with Marriott International as a Guest Care Supervisor. Joseph stayed with Marriott for 7 years, the last 4 of which he took on the role of regional troubleshooter, visiting hotels that needed the most significant improvements and bringing them back up to Marriott Standards before the new General Managers took over full time.

After leaving Marriott, he moved east and took a position with a Philadelphia hotel management company, settling in Secaucus, NJ. Joseph joined the Ice team in October of 2013 and taught most of the classes on the ciriculum. "Learning and Development is my true passion and I am extremely excited to be at Institute of Culinary Education."

Joseph comes from a large family—he has 7 older brothers and 2 sisters—which grew larger still when he and his wife had triplets at the end of 2013. Says Joseph, "We have 2 boys and a girl, and they are the most amazing addition to my life."
