Tageré Southwell grew up on the Caribbean island of Antigua. She came to the U.S. to study at Syracuse University getting a Bachelor of Science in Retailing & Fashion Business. During her time as a student, she hosted barbeques, charging admission to pay for her expenses. She began working for Arista Records, still exploring her love of food by baking and selling pies. She worked in the corporate world for a few more years before following her love of food to ICE. She completed her externship at the famed Chanterelle. In 2003, she became part of the culinary team for the Cannes Film Festival. She became a private chef with clients in the Hamptons, Greenwich, and New York City. She worked for famed chef Sara Moulton and Woman’s World magazine. Now, she is the Executive Chef for the GE Monogram Design Center in the Architecture & Design Building in New York City, overseeing cooking demonstration events for architects, designers, and consumers of the luxury line of appliances.
