Students taste wine in the Intensive Sommelier Training class

Intensive Sommelier Training

The Institute of Culinary Education now offers one of the country's premier wine courses, Intensive Sommelier Training, at our New York and Los Angeles campuses. This is the only sommelier training course approved by the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas. By enrolling in this wine studies course you'll be learning from masters of the craft with a curriculum created by ICE’s Dean of Wine Studies and Master Sommelier, Scott Carney. The curriculum covers wine styles and winemaking, tasting and professional service techniques, and an engaging tour of the world's great wine-growing regions. Immerse yourself in geography, geology and history while tasting approximately 300 wines.

Recreational Wine Classes

ICE’s Wine Studies classes in NYC are designed to build your understanding, awareness and appreciation for the whole spectrum of wine, as well as other beverages such as beer, spirits and sake. The program includes a mix of one-session, two-session and six-session classes. The in-depth Wine Essentials class meets once a week for six weeks, with each session dedicated to a particular topic, such as Bordeaux, sparkling and dessert wines.

The Mixology Center

When designing ICE’s New York City campus in Brookfield Place, we were committed to bringing both the business of running a bar and craft bar management to life for our career, professional and recreational students. Featuring a best-in-breed, mixologist-designed bar, our Mixology Center provides students on the NY campus with the ability to literally step into the shoes of the industry’s best bartenders and explore making craft cocktails.
